Inside the Newsroom: Where Chaos Meets Truth

There’s a rhythm to a newsroom that never leaves you. The ringing phones, the shouting editors, the hum of deadlines closing in—it’s chaos, but it’s also where truth is born. I lived in that chaos for years, and it shaped both the stories I told and the man I became.

When I sat down to write this book, I wanted readers to feel that pulse. The newsroom isn’t a backdrop—it’s a character. Its energy pushes people to the edge, forcing them to make choices that blur the lines between integrity and survival.

John Torberg, my main character, is brilliant but torn—trying to expose corruption while struggling with his own demons. Theodore Tooley, his colleague, is as captivating as he is destructive. These aren’t superheroes. They’re human beings, just like the ones I knew in real newsrooms.

Journalism has always demanded sacrifice. Sometimes it costs sleep, relationships, even health. And yet, people stay in it because the truth matters more than comfort. That’s the tension I wanted readers to feel—the beauty and the burden of chasing what’s real.

So when you turn these pages, you won’t just read about deadlines and scandals. You’ll step into a world where chaos and truth coexist, and where every choice carries a cost.
